About

In a country with so much promise and opportunity, Mexico waits to be severely impacted with the hope and love of Jesus Christ. ROCKHARBOR hopes to make a difference in Mexico by focusing on the following:

1. Building Homes
ROCKHARBOR Mexico takes groups down frequently to build homes for the homeless of El Nino and the surrounding areas outside of Tijuana, Mexico. When the “El Nino” storm hit northern Baja California in the early nineties, many individuals and families were displaced and left homeless; given nothing but a hillside east of Tijuana as their refuge. We believe we have been called as the Church and the body of Christ to speak into their suffering and to provide them a place to call home. We believe the homes we build “Casa de Dios” aren’t just wood and nails, but the lasting fingerprints of the work of Christ. And we, as faithful followers, are His hands and Feet.

2. Building Partnerships
ROCKHARBOR Mexico is dedicated to continually developing and maintaining partnerships and relationships with other organizations that have been called to do this same work in Mexico. Baja Christian Ministries, founded by Bob Sanders [http://bajachristian.org], is our greatest partner in this ministry. The most important relationships we build are with the local pastors and community leaders of El Nino and the surrounding areas. These people are a crucial part of the effectiveness of this ministry. We want to empower local leaders to build up their communities and for residents to see those leaders as effective and useful civic and spiritual resources. Our goal is to equip these leaders and their community to continue this work long after we have gone.

3. Building Hearts for Jesus Christ
“God our Savior wants all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” [1 Tim 2:3-4]
ROCKHARBOR Mexico’s primary focus is to share the love of Christ with all people God puts in our path. Through children’s ministries, building homes, soccer programs, educational programs, family care, micro enterprise, local law enforcement support, and evangelism we are reaching out to those whom God has called us. Daily we see God’s presence in this work. Yearly, we see thousands come to Christ.
